Hello friends, family, colleagues, clients and prospective clients!

Well, I finally did it.

I FINALLY created my own personal blog JUST so I didn’t get passed up in the world of social media – personally. :0) I have, however, been on top of social media since AOL chat rooms were the “happening place to be” and then when MySpace launched (we have client accounts that date back to ‘05) but I never ‘jumped on the bandwagon’ personally until now.

I know, I know… don’t knock me for it – it was just the thing for me to do personally since I have always been the anti-guru who likes to stay out of the limelight and would much rather barricade myself in my “cave” optimizing web sites and carving niches while the ‘other guys’ play “attention whore” and speak at conventions every other weekend. It just wasn’t my steelo or style.

Things Change!

Now, and I must say from witnessing the sheer communication power of Twitter, I have turned a new leaf and feel that it is my obligation as a white hat SEO and ethical internet marketer to establish a humble voice online and hope to share as much information with you all as I possibly can.

I’ll never consider myself a guru, but everyone else sure does.

Everything that I have learned has been from reading, trial, error, testing, and retesting. When I was given an immense budget for my previous employer (before starting Zealous Marketing in ‘07) Global’s marketing, I wasn’t too happy to explain the ROI questions. I got bodyslammed in the mud in media buys and ripped through the teeth of the top networks’ sales guys and gals. I learned a valuable lesson though – ALWAYS ASK FOR TEST BUYS TO PROVE THE MODEL AND EXPLORE MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL INCENTIVES FROM BOTH SIDES.  I also learned not to solely rely on Alexa for projecting traffic and conversion numbers.

I was one of the lucky ones.

I have been a perpetual student of SEO, black hat seo and white hat seo, from the days of Alta Vista. Well before Global, I found a GREAT mentor who gave me just enough info to start testing my own theories myself – and I have been a numbers junkie ever since. (I say “just enough info” because no true SEO wants to reveal ALL their ’strategies’.) I mention that because it was what our clients did the best with, my own “behind the scenes” seo strategies that brought pure search traffic, and ESPECIALLY in my PR Writing, Optimization and Distribution. Enough to stay aboard long-term. Some of you reading this blog know who you are and have been with me for the past 6-8 years – for that, I greatly appreciate our continued friendship and your faith in my abilities. I hope to continue innovating and keeping your campaigns in the forefront of effective internet marketing success.

It’s getting late so I’ll have to “wrap it up b”. I’ll give you some more insight on Joe Perez when you read again – look out for the posts in the Random category.
